1Information We Collect
We collect only the essential information needed to calculate roommate compatibility and provide the service:
- Authentication: Email address (used strictly for magic links / login passcodes). We do not collect government identity documents, biometric data, or store user passwords.
- Location & Housing Preferences: Target city, preferred neighborhood, approximate geographic coordinates, budget range, and commute radius.
- Lifestyle Profile: Self-reported answers across lifestyle traits (sleep schedule, cleanliness scale, WFH rhythm, noise tolerance, dietary choices, guest policy, smoking/drinking tolerances, cooking frequency, pet policy, and social battery).
- Platform Signals: Records of profiles where you have expressed or received match interest.
2How We Use Your Data
Your information is used strictly to provide the Roomora platform:
- Computing algorithmic compatibility scores against potential flatmate profiles.
- Applying geographic radius filters to present relevant nearby candidates.
- Sending transactional notifications (login links, interest alerts, and mutual match notifications).
- Zero Personal Data Selling: We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to external data brokers.
3Third-Party Data Processors & Infrastructure
To operate the service, we work with trusted cloud infrastructure providers who process data strictly under confidentiality agreements:
Secure, encrypted cloud servers and managed database providers used to store user profiles and run spatial match queries.
Secure API-based email delivery providers used solely to transmit one-time authentication passcodes (OTP) and mutual match notifications.
4Data Retention, Pausing & Right to Deletion
You maintain full control over your profile and personal data:
- Update & Edit: You can edit your lifestyle preferences, location, or budget directly in your profile dashboard at any time.
- Pause / Withdraw: Toggle your profile status to
pausedormoved_outto immediately withdraw your profile from candidate discovery feeds. - Complete Erasure (Deletion): Send an email from your registered email address to roomora.team@gmail.com with the subject “Data Deletion Request”. All your profile records, preferences, and compatibility data will be permanently purged within 7 business days.
